This book is chock full of great information about the history of rockets. It is quite detailed. I would recommend this book for anyone who has a passion for aeronautics.

Fantastic Book

They were going to throw this away from my local school library before I saved it from the trashcan. It truly is a fantastic, comprehensive book. While there is not much technical depth, it is a truly comprehensive account of the development of rocketry, from the ancient Chinese and gun powder, until a quarter of the way into the development of the Shuttle (it was published in 1978). A fantastic book filled with really interesting development. Don't be fooled by the cover, it doesn't just concentrate on the space program--it covers every sort of rocket (ICBMs, sounding rockets, etc.).

Superb Overview

Superb overview by David Baker. Perhaps a bit dated at the moment, can we expect a sequel? A terrific companion to Baker's The History of Manned Spaceflight. Highly recommended.
