First, I cannot believe I am the first person to review this book!
I have been using this book for three years and it is so full of common-sense solutions and thought-starters that it gives me an advantage I would not want to be without on the job. Each chapter begins with a 2-3 page introduction on the lists which follow. Most lists contain at least 10 entries with supporting statements after each, which circumscribe the issue. A quick read through the list generates focus. Then, you can home in on the solution by using the list items that are best suited to you.
This book is a diamond in the rough (of business how-to books), but every list contained within is an unqualified gem.

Carl Silvio is an assistant professor of English at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. He lives in Rochester.
Tony M. Vinci is currently working toward his Ph.D. in English and Cultural Studies at Southern Illinois University. He is co-editor of Culture, Identities, and Technology in the Star Wars Films: Essays on the Two Trilogies (2006) and has published essays in The Journal of Popular Culture and Science Fiction Film and Television. His current projects interrogate the relationship between trauma and posthuman ethics in post WWII literature and culture.
Donald E. Palumbo is a professor of English at East Carolina University. He lives in Greenville, North Carolina.
C.W. Sullivan III is Distinguished Professor of arts and sciences at East Carolina University and a full member of the Welsh Academy. He is the author of numerous books and the on-line journal Celtic Cultural Studies.

Fantastic for Teachers

I would recommend "Culture, Identities and Technology in the Star Wars Films" to fans of the series as well as to teachers. The book covers a wide range of topics within the Star Wars universe, from capitalism to race to feminism - there's even a chapter on the fetishization of objects. Most essays discuss all six films and though this could cause the chapters to veer in too many directions, the writing in each remains focused and clear.

The highlight of the collection is the essay "Feminism and the Force: Empowerment and Disillusionment in a Galaxy Far, Far Away," which compares the surprising feminine strength of Princess Leia with Padme Amidala's "weepy stereotype of a woman coming undone." The essay goes on to defend Padme and to draw parallels between her and modern victims of domestic abuse, but the real heart of the article is the section on Leia. Truly a great book of essays.

Como un perfecto monarca absolutista de todas las Rusias gobern� con mano dura durante treinta a�os, su megaloman�a y sadismo paranoico no tuvieron l�mites llegando a deportar u ordenar la ejecuci�n de muchos de sus cercanos colaboradores y sus respectivas familias. Sin un �pice de conciencia y sin que le temblara el pulso mando a la muerte segura a m�s de veinte millones de infelices con los planes de Colectivizaci�n e Industrializaci�n forzosa destruyendo la estructura social del pa�s conocida hasta entonces. Una lectura conmovedora que aporta un poco m�s de luz sobre el oscuro reino del s�trapa georgiano en la Uni�n Sovi�tica.
